J. Clyde Kimmel

	J. Clyde Kimmel, 96, of Robinson, Ill, died after a lingering illness at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2002 at his home.
	Born January 13, 1906 in Elkville, he was the son of Edward and Ada Schwartz Kimmel.  He owned and operated Kimmel's Men Store on the Square in Robinson, Ill. for 43 years.  he was a member of the Robinson First United Methodist church and the Robinson Elks Lodge #1188.
	 On June 4, 1927, he married Nelle Swain, who preceded him in death on March 30, 1992.  Also preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Miss Berta Kimmel and Mrs. Alta Atkins  and a brother, Dewey Kimmel, all long-time residents of Elkville and/or DuQuoin.
	The Kimmel and Schwartz families were some of the original founders of Elkville.
	 On September 3, 1994, he married Sarah Brashear Woodard, who survives.  Also surviving are a niece, Roberta Atkins Daschner and husband, Del, of Jacksons Gap, Alabama; two step-daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Ron West of Terre Haute, Indiana and Marilyn and James R. Smith of Cypress, Texas and a step-son and his wife, Don and Dorothy Woodard of Pleasanton, California.
	The funeral was held on Sunday, February 24 at Robinson First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Barnett and Rev. Louis Youngs officiating.  Burial was in the Robinson New Cemetery.
	Memorials may be made to the Robinson First United Methodist Church or to the Lincolnland Hospice.
